On this occasion, BV has collaborated with TotalEnergies to develop the innovative remote inspection tool <strong>Augmented Surveyor 3D (AGS 3D)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Project Description<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Bureau Veritas has launched <strong>AGS 3D<\/strong>, an innovative remote inspection solution that integrates multiple advanced technologies to enhance anomaly detection and corrosion mapping on vessels and offshore structures. The system uses <strong>artificial intelligence (AI)<\/strong> and <strong>machine learning<\/strong> to automate and improve processes such as defect detection, corrosion mapping, and the generation of 3D digital models from data collected by drones.<\/p>\n<p>These drones allow inspections in hard-to-reach areas, such as the ballast tanks of offshore platforms, capturing detailed images that are converted into 3D digital models using <strong>LiDAR technology<\/strong> (Light Detection and Ranging), a data capture system that uses lasers to create accurate maps of the environment. Once these models are obtained, AI analyzes the data to automatically identify anomalies and corrosion maps, eliminating the need for manual intervention.<\/p>\n<p>This new solution has already been tested in a pilot project with TotalEnergies, on a <strong>Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit<\/strong> in <strong>West Africa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Project Objectives<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The main objective of the project is to improve the safety of crews and operational efficiency by automating critical inspection tasks.
